Public Facilities – 7/19/2023 Report

The Public Facilities Committee voted to approve the following (see Report and watch the NewTV video):

  • Reappointment of Jonathan Kantar to the Citizens Commission on Energy. The Committee voted 6-0.
  • Approval on roadway infrastructure improvements for the Elliot Street Traffic Calming Project. According to the report, there were two primary changes to the plan: the crosswalk location was moved for better sight lines, and a 12” rumble strip along the yellow center line was added. The Director of Transportation said there was not enough room for a concrete island on Elliot Street. The public was supportive of the project at a community meeting held in June. The Committee voted 4-0-2, with Councilors Kelley and Kalis abstaining.

The Public Facilities Committee voted to Hold:

  • Eversource petition for Grant of Location in Boylston Street to relocate a pole 3’. Held to correct an error in the docket. The Committee voted to hold 6-0.
