The Newton Cultural Council (NCC) is a local cultural council of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), a state agency. The City of Newton believes in the importance of the arts and matches funding provided by the MCC in its local cultural council initiative.
Last year the NCC granted over $50,000 to more than 50 local artists and organizations to support local programming in Newton’s artistic, humanist, and scientific community.
The Newton Cultural Council’s goal is to allocate resources fairly to promote growth in a cultural sector that embraces inclusive belonging across culture, race, class, identity, and lived experience.
The NCC conducts an annual community survey to align NCC priorities with community interest and is asking the public to please help clicking the link to take the survey. The survey takes about 3 – 5 minutes to complete and is available until August 29.
