Board and Commission Meetings – Week of 8/20/2023

Newton Fair Housing Lottery Results and Lease Up Sub-Committee will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, August 22 at 8AM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Discussion regarding data needed to document the lottery process and outcome
  • Workplan and priorities for the coming year
  • Next meeting date
  • Fair Housing Committee Priorities Discussion
    • Promote housing choice for diverse populations to advance Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH), with focus on race/ethnicity, public subsidy, and disability
    • Identify and work to overcome barriers to successful tenancies and to improve processes/practices for tenant selection in the lottery and market rate multi-family rental housing
    • Promote data collection on multi-family rental and new homeownership occupancy

Newton Retirement Board will meet in person (Room B15) on Tuesday, August 22 at 9AM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Maureen Lemieux, City of Newton’s Chief Financial Officer, to discuss, via Zoom, the City’s creation of a new stabilization fund
  • Board to designate an Election Officer for Thomas Lopez’ elected member position, term ending 12/13/2023
