The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Newton (FUUSN) will celebrate jazz in an informal Sunday service at 10:15AM on July 9. Join us for a jazz concert tuned to the qualities of human experience we look for in church. Geoff Hicks, a celebrated local jazz artist (and minister) will transform our Parish Hall into a jazz club where we will refine the habit of finding church everywhere.
Dr. Geoff Hicks, a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and the Andover Newton Theological School, has performed as a singer/ pianist internationally and throughout New England. Dr. Hicks has conducted inspiring choral groups and performed in Boston’s Jordan Hall, Symphony Hall, the Hatch Shell, the Tsai Performance Center, Carnegie Hall, and the White House. He currently serves as the Pastor of Music at the First Baptist church in Hingham, Massachusetts.
FUUSN is located in the heart of West Newton at 1326 Washington Street.
