- Public Hearing on the Municipal Fossil Fuel Free Building Construction and Renovation Demonstration Project and adoption of an ordinance requiring electrification of all new construction and substantial renovations. Public hearing and review of draft ordinance for MA Dept of Energy Resources (DOER) for September 1 submission deadline. The proposed ordinance adds certain exemptions and a waiver provision that requires explicit approval from DOER. The waiver applies only to major renovations. 5 residents spoke in favor of the ordinance, and 1 spoke in opposition. Councilors unanimously supported the draft ordinance submission to DOER. (7-0)
