Every Thursday from June 22 through July 27, The Allen Center (35 Webster Street, West Newton) will host Summer Pop-Ups, 11:30AM to 2:30PM, featuring lunch from a local restaurant, pop-up shops of local businesses, music, and kids’ craft activities.
Orchestrated by Lauren Berman’s civic-minded marketing firm, ALL Over Newton, the series starts on June 22 with lunch by Bettina’s Bakery, art by Daniel Benayun, Edible Gardens by Sully, ThreadED: Fashion for a Future, Nomad Spa, Ever’s Distributors, and The Paint Bar. Berman says of The Allen Center’s Summer Pop-Ups, “It’s the perfect spot for families, friends, and co-workers to grab lunch, shop from a local small business, connect, listen to music, and just kick back and have fun.”
Adrienne Hartzell-Knudsen, Managing Director of The Allen Center says, “We envisioned the Center as a meeting spot for drawing the community together and these pop-ups do just that.”
Check the Summer Pop-Ups site for each week’s participating restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Lunch-goers are asked to order their meals in advance, to help the participating restaurants gauge demand. Pop-ups will be held, rain or shine, under a tent on The Allen Center’s patio and will move indoors during inclement weather. For more information, email lauren@allovernewton.com.
