Newton Juneteenth Celebration, June 19

Newton Juneteenth Celebration will take place on June 19, noon-4PM at the Hyde Community Center (90 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands). It’s free, and you are encouraged to reserve a spot. There will be live music, food trucks, vendors, and family-friendly activities to celebrate our national holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Americans. Entertainment will include:

  • NewCity Sound, a band formed with Rev. Devlin Scott from NewCity Church to perform at Blacknificence, with Jen Aldana, Jalen Williams, and Caleb McCoy.
  • Students from Newton North High SchoolPeople of Change: Eva Janairo, Annyka Saint-Preux, Hidaya Bukenya and others
  • DJ Firestarta
