The Newton Police Department, the Newton Gun Violence Prevention Collaborative, and the Middlesex County Sheriff’s department are hosting a Gun Buyback on June 24, 9AM to noon, at 196 Jackson Road (the old Aquinas College parking lot) for the safe disposal of unwanted guns. Reduce the risk of suicide, accidental discharge, and domestic violence. A gift card ($25 to $200) will be given in exchange for each firearm turned in. Firearms must be unloaded, with safety engaged, in a bag, box, or case. On arrival, leave them inside the trunk of your vehicle for offices of the Newton Police Department or Middlex County Sheriff’s Department to pick up. All firearms will be safely destroyed.
