The agenda includes a continued public hearing on the Northland 160 Charlemont, LLC, request for a Comprehensive Permit, pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 40B, to construct a nine-story mixed-use development with 410 residential units and approximately 10,689 square feet of ground floor commercial space on 6.98 acres of land located at 160 Charlemont Street and 56 Christina Street in the Mixed Use 1 Zoning District. Sustainable Materials Management Committee (SMMC) will also meet virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, June 22 at 7PM. The agenda includes an update on the Sustainable Packaging Ordinance; SMMC Advocacy; broadening the SMMC scope to include health, toxics, and the environment; a discussion regarding the submittal of a letter on the need to reduce single-use water bottles, the toxicity of plastics, and encouraging reusable water bottle use in the city and in the schools; an update on the Private Hauler Ordinance rollout, and an update from the Sustainable Materials Management Department.
