William James College panel discussion: Youth Mental Health: Understanding the Challenges and Opportunities, May 10

William James College will host a group of experts to discuss the current mental health challenges facing high school and college students (video) and the ways in which educators, families, and communities can make a difference in the lives of young people by investing in behavioral health programs and services. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 6PM-8PM at the Sheraton Needham Hotel. It is free and open to the public.

This timely discussion will be moderated by Dr. Julie RyanPhD, alicensed psychologist and Associate Professor in the Clinical Psychology Department WJC.

The panel includes a renowned group of clinicians, researchers, authors, and academics:

  • John Della Volpe, Director of Polling, Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics and author of Fight
  • Wendy Fischman, Project Director, Project Zero, Harvard Graduate School of Education and author of The Real World of College
  • Robert Kinscherff, PhD, JD, Professor, Clinical Psychology Department at William James College, Executive Director of the Center for Law, Brain & Behavior (CLBB) at Massachusetts General Hospital 
  • Dr. Nadja Lopez Reilly, Executive Director of the WJC Center for Behavioral Health, Equity, and Leadership in Schools, and author of Anxiety and Depression in the Classroom
  • Dr. Gemima St. Louis, Vice President for Workforce Initiatives and Specialty Training, Professor in the Clinical Psychology Department, and Director, Health Resources and Services Administration-funded STAR Fellowship Program, William James College.
