The Newton South Booster Club will host its second annual Lions 5K, a road race and fundraiser to support Newton South High School athletics and boost overall school and community spirit. It takes place on May 21, and the race starts at 9AM.
Last year’s event drew 400 participants, including students, teachers, staff, parents, coaches, alumni, neighbors and local residents. They ran, walked, volunteered, donated, and cheered, helping to raise more than $30,000.
The Lions 5K is open to the public, for runners and walkers, entering individually or in teams. Participants registering before May 5 will receive a free T-shirt and a raffle ticket.
