Board and Commission Meetings – Week of 5/28/2023

Newton Citizens Commission on Energy will meet in person (Room 205) and virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, May 30 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Bev Craig: News from Clean Energy Center
  • Peter Barrer and Bob Persons: Mapping of gas replacement opportunities
  • Mayor’s response to the meeting on May 8th: Next steps
  • Letter of support for the future of gas resolution by City Council: The role of NCCE

Newton Upper Falls Historic District Commission will hold a site visit on Wednesday, May 31 at 4PM (see Notice) The site visit will take place at 1036-1038 Chestnut Street to review the existing conditions of the rear addition and to review demolished chimney and chimney conditions.

Newton Highlands Neighborhood Area Council will meet in person (Brigham House, 20 Hartford Street) and virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, June 1 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Substantive topics
    • Village Day
    • Levingston Cove and other Crystal Lake topics
    • Route 9 / Winchester / Centre traffic signal

Newtonville Historic District Commission will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, June 1 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to install a makeup air unit with a small open-grating platform at the rear of the building at 218 Walnut Street (see Application).
