Zoning Board of Appeals will meet in person (Council Chamber) and virtually (Zoom link) on Wednesday, April 26 at 7PM. The REVISED agenda includes the following:

  • Public Hearing on a request for a variance from Section 7.6 of the Newton Zoning Ordinance to allow a height of 36.4 feet where a height of 36 feet is required in order to raze and construct a two-story attached garage, resulting in an increase in building height to 36.4 feet from the existing conforming height of 35.3 feet at 46 Valley Spring Road.
  • Public Hearing on a request for a Comprehensive Permit, pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 40B, to construct a nine-story mixed-use development with 410 residential units and approximately 10,689 square feet of ground floor commercial space on 6.98 acres of land located at 160 Charlemont Street and 56 Christina Street in the Mixed Use 1 Zoning District. The proposal includes 103 affordable units and 486 parking stalls.
