Board and Commission Meetings – Week of 3/26/2023

Newton Cultural Council will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Monday, March 27 at 5:30PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Treasurer report
  • Grant Modifications
  • Council Member Survey Discussion Continued
  • Discussion with Timothea Pham; MCC Program Officer Local Cultural Councils, Festivals, Cultural Districts

Newton Fair Housing Lottery Results and Lease Up Sub-Committee will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, March 28 at 8AM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Recap on work accomplished during the first year of the subcommittee
  • Workplan and priorities for the coming year

The Riverside Liaison Committee will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, March 28 at 8AM to get an update from Mark Development.

Newton Retirement Board will meet in person (Room 211) on Tuesday, March 28 at 9AM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Board to conduct public hearing to discuss FY24 retiree cost-of-living increase
  • Presentation regarding cost-of-living increase by City of Newton Mayor Ruthanne Fuller and City of Newton’s Chief Financial Officer, Maureen Lemieux
  • Discussion and presentation re: Newton Retirement Board’s funding schedule by Newton City Council President, Susan Albright, and Newton School Committee Member, Christopher Brezski

Election Commission will meet in person (Room 211) and virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, March 28 at 2PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Hand Count of Ballots sent by mail from outside the United States, including Federal Write-In Absentee ballots that are postmarked on or before March 14 and received by 5pm on March 24, 2023.

Newton Citizens Commission on Energy will meet in person (Room 205) on Wednesday, March 29 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Final draft of a plan to implement Newton Climate Action Plan in the residential sector: the full document and the Executive Summary/Memorandum to the Mayor. NOTE: The materials will be distributed to the members of the NCCE prior to the meeting.
  • The resolution adopted by the City Council on gas transition in Newton, and its follow-up. NOTE: The text of the resolution will follow shortly and the item may be taken up at the April meeting if time does not allow).
