No Override campaign launches website

After forming and registering a month ago, the No Override Newton campaign launched its website this week. These excerpts cite some of the campaign’s reasons to vote against the proposals for an operating override and two debt exclusions:

  • “Newton has never had so much free cash in its history.”
  • “Newton has $35 million is still unspent COVID relief funds.”
  • “Newton expects to receive millions more as its share of the recently passed Millionaire Tax.”
  • “Rising home prices, rising taxes, up zoning with increased density, and a burgeoning number of luxury apartment complexes are making Newton less affordable.”
  • “69% of parents don’t believe our schools are headed in the right direction.”

The site invites the public to join its mailing list, make a donation, and contact the campaign.
