City Council
- The Programs and Services Committee will take up two alternative proposals for a Tree Ordinance Amendment — one by the Mayor and one by Councilors — at this week’s meeting on Thursday.
- The Recodification Committee (Councilors Baker, Albright, and Wright) will meet on Friday morning and hear a presentation on the new online Municode (code management) system and discuss any proposed changes or recommendations.
The City Council received a 50-person petition requesting a public hearing regarding artificial turf.
Boards and Commissions
- Fair Housing Committee will review training for real estate professionals, the FY2024Annaul Action Plan, an update on the Newton Stability/Mobility Initiative, and proposed comments by the Fair Housing Committee on the proposed HUD rule on Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing
- Election Commission will review and approve pro and con statements for the override election.
- WestMetro HOME Consortium will hear a presentation by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) on the Consortium Overnight Parking Utilization Study and a presentation from the HM23 Special RFP recipients; receive updates on the FY24 AAP & HOME Budget, the Fair Housing Testing Program, Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing, and Subrecipient Agreements; and review and vote on HOME ARP-Allocation Plan, review the draft FY22 HOME Monitoring schedule.
- Farm Commission will review the 2023 business plan, farm operations, and an update on solar installation.
- Newton Highlands Area Council will discuss a vacancy on the Area Council, zoning, village enhancement, Soup Social, Village Day, and parking.
- Newtonville Historic District Commission will review applications for Certificate of Appropriateness at 122 Lowell Avenue and 197 Walnut Street.
