The UU Plant-Based Eating Club, housed at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton, is hosting a Zoom discussion of the blockbuster documentary Seaspiracy. Seaspiracy is a groundbreaking Netflix Original documentary that exposes the fishing industry’s impact on marine wildlife and ecosystems and identifies actions consumers can take action to preserve our oceans. When the film was released in 2021, it quickly rose to Netflix’s top 10 most popular films and TV shows in several countries worldwide. Seaspiracy was produced by Kip Anderson and directed by Ali Tabrizi, the same team behind the film Cowspiracy. Please watch the movie on your own (or in small groups) and join us for one or both Zoom discussions on Saturday, January 28 at 7PM (register here) and Thursday, February 2 at 7PM (register here). The UU Plant-Based Eating Club is a group of around 50 people who desire to learn about and eat more nutritious and delicious meals together using plant-based whole foods. Members are primarily interested in learning how to prepare truly delicious, plant-based, healthy meals and sharing the joys of eating with others from our local UU community. We are all exploring the powerful ways food can sustain and improve the health and vitality of people and the planet. You are welcome to join us no matter what your dietary and religious practices are, as long as you are interested in supporting other group members in their pursuit of a whole food, plant-based lifestyle and are considering it for yourself whether in whole or in part. Non-UUs and non-vegans are welcome!
