The City of Newton, in conjunction with Harmony Foundation, will host the City’s 55th annual celebration of Martin Luther King Day, honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., will take place on January 16 at 9:30AM at Newton North High School with the theme: Justice — Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere. Advance registration is required. (This LIVE event may change to a webinar in the event of a Covid emergency or winter weather crisis.) There will be children’s programming with Story Starters, so young children are welcome. A citywide Community Food Drive for Newton’s three food pantries is being held for the week before the event.
