Join Newton’s growing Parkinson’s Support Group, Jan. 30

Newton’s Parkinson’s Support Group is reaching out to all Newton residents who have Parkinson’s Disease (PD) — as well as to their caregivers, family members, and friends. We provide emotional support to each other by sharing tips from our personal experiences about handling the many life challenges that come with PD.

We are also disseminating accurate, up-to-date information on PD and various treatment options, as well as organizing special forums to hear from PD-related professionals in the Newton area. We think this Newton-based focus will help create new bonds of friendship around our physical proximity to one another and the medically proven fact that shared experiences about common challenges are strong antidotes to the loneliness, anxiety, and isolation that too often accompany PD.

We meet the last Monday of every month — both online (via Zoom) and in-person at the Brigham House (20 Hartford Street, Newton Highlands). Our next meeting is on Monday, January 30 at 10:30AM

Please register by emailing Ilana Seidmann, Program Coordinator, at iseidmann@newtonma.gov or by calling 617-796-1670. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with information about joining the meeting. Just come to the Brigham House around 10:30 AM if you want to participate in the live meeting.

You do not have to battle this disease alone. We help each other, and it works.
