Newton Historical Commission will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, January 5 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Four Requests for Total Demolition
    • 29 Faxon Street – Request to demolish an 1856 single-family non-conforming structure to build a new conforming single-family structure.
    • 1593-1595 Centre Street – Request to demolish a 1928 two-family structure to build 2 brand new townhomes.
    • 19 Irvington Street – Request to demolish an 1899 structure and replace it with a new structure.
    • 43 Crafts Street – Request to demolish an 1840 structure and replace it with a new structure.
  • Four Partial Demolition Requests
    • 22 Jerome Avenue – Request to demolish the exterior concrete stair to a 1920 structure.
    • 175 Evelyn Road – Request to demolish the roof of a 1952 structure to accommodate the addition of the second floor and demolition of the porch at the back to build the addition.
    • 951 Walnut Street – Request to demolish the roof, second floor, attic, and garage and rebuild the existing second floor, attic, and attached garage in a 1900 structure.
    • 6 Ferncroft Street – Request to partially demolish the garage, rear sun room, and roof for a proposed second-floor dormer in a 1938 structure.
  • Five Requests to Waive the Demolition Delay
