3 (now 4) public meetings on the Override

Mayor Ruthanne Fuller held a two-hour online Town Hall Forum on January 26 to answer questions about the proposed tax override. A recording of the meeting has been posted here.

On Sunday, February 5 at 2PM, Mayor Ruthanne Fuller and Interim Superintendent Kathleen Smith will host a Tax Override Forum at the Newton Chinese Language School located at Day Middle School (21 Minot Place). For more information and to submit questions, click here.

The Charles River Regional Chamber will host an online Newton Business Community Town Hall on February 7, 8:30AM-9:30AM to discuss Newton’s Proposition 2.5 override ballot questions, with a particular focus on the business and nonprofit community. The online event is free and open to members and non-members. Register here to get the Zoom link.

On February 8 at 7PM, Newton Public Schools will host an NPS Budget Forum in the auditorium of Newton North High School. It will include a presentation on the proposed operational override and its impact on the NPS budget for FY24, followed by a question-and-answer session. You may pose questions live at the event or via this online form beforehand.
