The Land Use Committee voted to approve the following (see Report and watch the video on NewTV):
- Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to replace an existing sign facing the Massachusetts Turnpike with a larger sign at 45 Crescent Street – see Special Permit documents and Draft Council Order
- Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to make additions to the first and second stories at 270 Auburndale Avenue – see Special Permit documents and Draft Council Order
- Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to raze the existing single-family dwelling and construct five single-family attached dwellings at 24 Wilson Circle – see Special Permit documents and Draft Council Order
The Committee continued the public hearing on 1314 Washington Street and received an update from the petitioner regarding parking. Two options were discussed regarding the proposal to add parking spaces on Highland Street that will be considered by the Traffic Council:
- Option #1 is the current proposal and keeps the existing lane widths as well as weekend and holiday parking.
- Option #2 allows for five additional parking spaces that would act as a pedestrian safety buffer, however there are concerns about safety regarding bicyclists.
In addition, the petitioner will be adding a 3-bedroom unit initially earmarked for 110% AMI and will instead be offered at 80% AMI.
The public hearing was held but no date set for a future meeting.
