The Newton Cultural Alliance — a nonprofit arts & culture organization directing The Allen Center and advocating for member art organizations and creative individuals — announces new appointments and programs:
NCA welcomes concert cellist and 20-year Newton resident Allison Yoshie Eldredge as its Artist in Residence. She is responsible for NCA’s new Cherry Street Players — a monthly chamber music series that offers “Classical with a twist.”
NCA recently elected these officers: Co-Presidents Laurel Farnsworth and Barbara Lietzke, Vice President Cindy Shulak-Rome, Clerk Susan Paley, and Treasurer Ken Krems. Other board members are Arthur Anderson, Vicki Danberg, Sachiko Isihara, Andrea Kelley, Kay Khan, Sayuri Miyamoto, and Ellen Whalley.
Educator Michelle Bissanti is working with NCA’s Cindy Shulak-Rome on programs to introduce Newton families to The Allen House and Nathaniel Allen’s progressive educational philosophy and legacy.
