City Council Meetings – Week of 10/30/2022

Land Use Committee will meet in person (Council Chamber) and virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, November 1 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request to amend a previously approved Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to replace the Petitioner as stated in the Council Order (#443-20) from MME Newton Retail LLC to Pharmacannis Massachusetts Inc. d/b/z Verilife at 232 Boylston Street (see Special Permit documents and Planning Memo)
  • Request to allow an increase in the number of shuttles for the accesorry parking shuttle service at 199 Boylston Street (see Special Permit documents and Planning Memo)
  • Request to raze a portion of the existing buildilng and reconfigure the existing parking to allow for a construction of a drive-in and relieft for a free-standing sign at 940 Boylston (see Special Permit documents and Planning Memo)
  • Request to raze two dwellings, merge two-lots, and construct a 6-unit multi-family dwelling with below grade parking accommodating 12 vehicles; to allow ground-florr residential use with residential above; to allow a 3-story structure with 36 feet in height; to extend a non-conforming side setback; to extend a non-conforming rear setback; to allow an FAR of 1.47; to allow reduced parking stall width; to allow restricted end stalls; to reduce the driveway width for 2-way traffic, and to allow a retaining wall exceeding 4 feet in height within a setback at 416 and 418 Langley Road (see Special Permit documents and Planning Memo)

Real Property Reuse Committee will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, November 3 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request to make the 57 sq. ft. City-owned parcel of land known as 181-183 Jackson Road available for sale or lease, pursuant to the City of Newton Ordinances Section 2-7.
