  • Helping to stock the Freedge — Newton’s free community refrigerator and pantry — for the last 1.5 years
  • Delivering thousands of pounds of food to local food pantries
  • Distributing over $8,000 in grocery gift cards to families served by Thom Child & Family Services, The Second Step, and Brockton Workers Alliance
  • Organizing a diaper drive, with Post 440 and Family Access of Newton, to distribute over 370 boxes of diapers to local families
  • Raising $7,500 to send 31 students to summer camp
  • Creating a pollinator garden, with the Newton Community Farm and the Newton Community Pollinator Project, for 70 residents in Newton Housing Authority properties
  • Working with The Village Bank and The Street Chestnut Hill to gather donated backpacks and school supplies for over 150 students

Newton Neighbors welcomes additional volunteers for its ongoing programs of food pantry deliveries to families, bulk food deliveries to food banks, and stocking Newton’s Community Freedge. Sign up here.
