Thank you to all who responded to our recent survey.
- It’s heartening to hear that we’re on the right track, particularly with coverage of City government and announcements of local events.
- Many have asked that we remain unbiased, objective, and transparent in our reporting, and we’re doing our best on that. Let us know if/when you think we miss that mark.
- Toward transparency, we have updated our About page to reflect that Fig City News is now a member of the Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers professional journalism association and is committed to abiding by its membership standards.
- We have added an Editorial Notes column to document updates and corrections to articles.
- Many have requested Letters to the Editor and Op-Eds. We have added a Letters to the Editor page and invite your letters. Please see that page for details. The opportunity for op-eds may come later.
- Some have asked us to publish information about the many non-profit organizations in Newton, and we have added an Organizations page, with thanks to Rose Day for this initial list of helpful links. It’s a work in progress, so please send additions and corrections to info@figcitynews.com.
- Some have asked that we publish obituaries. We have decided to publish an Obituaries page with links to obituaries published elsewhere. We’ll include links upon request, either by families or by funeral directors who have received permission from families.
