Board of License Commissioners will meet virtually (go here for Zoom link) on Tuesday, August 16 at 7:30PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Review and Approval of July 19 meeting minutes
  • Request for a One-Day Temporary Entertainment License for a fundraiser on Friday, August 19, 7:00PM – 10:00PM to be held at 58 Prescott Street
  • Request for a One-Day All Alcohol License for a faculty and staff welcome back gathering on Thursday, September 1 from 4:30PM – 7:30PM to be held at the Fessenden School, Sanderson Dining Hall and Lane Hall Courtyard, 250 Waltham Street
  • Request for a One-Day Temporary Wine and Malt and Entertainment License:
    • Outdoor BBQ clambake on Saturday, August 27 with a rain date of Sunday, August 28, 1PM – 5PM at the Cove (sites 1 and 2), 104 West Pine Street
    • Annual Spring Fling fundraising gala on Saturday, September 17, 6PM – 10PM at the Newton Free Library, 330 Homer Street
  • Request for 5 One-Day Temporary Wine and Malt Licenses — Fessenden School
    • Reception — Outdoors Gibson Field — Tuesday, September 6, 5PM – 6:30PM
    • Potluck Recpetion — Outdoors Gibson Field — Tuesday, September 13, 6:30PM – 8:30PM

  • Request for a New Wine and Malt Package Store License — Ace International Trace LLC d/b/a Forevermark Flowers, 562 Commonwealth Avenue — hours for alcohol sale will be M-F, 9AM – 7PM and Sat., 10AM – 5PM
  • Public Hearing regarding prorating license fees has been postponed to a later date.

Board of Assessors will meet on Wednesday, August 17 at 9AM in Room 108. The agenda includes the following:

  • Approval of July 2022 Exemption and Abatement Reports

Chestnut Hill Historic District Commission will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, August 18 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request to approve remediation plan to mitigate the replaced front walkway, stairs, and entry landing (Violation) at 342 Beacon Street — Continuation.
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to redesign the patio and outdoor kitchen area, to install a kitchen hood vent, and install an electric meter at 9 Old Orchard Road — Continuation, and review work done on the siding.
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to renovate the existing house and garage, demolish the greenhouse addition, and build an addition and a tennis pavilion at 24 Essex Road.
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to change the exterior paint color palette at 65 Suffolk Road.
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to replace garage doors, paint garage siding, and remove two windows at 7 Reservoir Avenue.
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to remove trees, install hardscaping, and put in new plantings at 124 Chestnut Hill Road.
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to build a front entry vestibule and install condensers at 32 Gatehouse Road.
