With many donors on vacation, our local hospitals are facing urgent needs for donations of both blood and blood platelets.
You can donate blood in Newton on Friday, July 29, when the blood mobile operated by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital will be at Brae Burn Country Club (326 Fuller Street, West Newton). Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins will be welcomed as time allows. Sign up here for Friday, July 29, 10AM-4:30PM. Donors will receive $5 Starbucks cards.
Or you may donate blood or platelets on any day at the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center (35 Binney Street, Boston), serving Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. There’s a particular need for blood platelets, which must be used within a few days of donation. Sign up here to donate either blood or platelets. Donors receive free parking, a thank-you gift, and immense gratitude.
