Late Friday evening, a home at 54 Gray Cliff Road in Newton Centre was destroyed by a four-alarm fire. No one was home at the time, and a neighbor noticed the fire only after it had engulfed multiple floors. MassLive reports that the Newton Fire Department — backed up by Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Waltham, Wellesley, and Weston — worked more than three hours to bring the fire fully under control. According to the Assessor’s office, the home was built in 1890.
