The Ligerbots, is a student-run FIRST FRC robotics team made up of students from both Newton North and Newton South High Schools. The students are given six weeks to design and build a robot that competes with other teams to play a game. Throughout the rest of the year, the students are also responsible for the business aspects of the group – fundraising, marketing, and publicity as well as community outreach and service.
The Ligerbots participated in two qualifying competitions. Although they lost in the semi-finals, they earned enough points to participate in the New England District Championships which will be held at the Big E in Springfield, MA from Wednesday, April 13th – Saturday, April 16th. Go Ligerbots!
