In a time when so much of our national conversation is marked by fear and exclusion, I’m excited to see local candidates who lead with compassion for all. That’s why I am enthusiastically supporting Cyrus Dahmubed for At-Large City Councilor for Ward 4.
At 32, Cyrus would be the youngest person on the Council, and a breath of fresh air. Creative, collaborative, and deeply rooted in community, he brings the perspective of a new generation of Newton leadership. Cyrus is a lifelong Auburndale resident and trained architectural and urban designer. His professional work has focused on gathering and synthesizing community feedback to shape thoughtful projects. He understands that good city planning starts with listening, dialogue, and shared purpose.
Cyrus’ priorities — affordable housing, support for small businesses, strong schools, sustainability, accessibility, and inclusive spaces — reflect a belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and at home here.
Cyrus is ready to lead now. He knows how to bring people together across differences and design solutions that reflect how people actually live today. His vision reflects the Newton I love — one that opens its doors wider with every generation.
All Newton voters can vote for Cyrus on or before November 4.
