Katcher & Rothstein host Women’s High Tea fundraiser for Food for Free and the Newton Food Pantry

Auburndale residents Susan Katcher and Lisa Rothstein recently hosted a “Women’s High Tea” fundraiser to support two local anti-hunger organizations — Food For Free and the Newton Food Pantry. Their event raised nearly $500 for each of the programs to help feed those in need. The three-course traditional High Tea menu consisted of tea sandwiches, scones, pastries, cookies, cakes and more. Last year, the two women held a similar fundraising event — a gourmet five-course dinner.

One of the nation’s first food rescue programs, Food For Free now serves more than 150,000 Massachusetts residents who are food insecure and distributes over 7.5 million pounds of nutritious fresh and prepared foods annually.
