  • Saturday, January 28, 5:30 – 7:30PM: Community Soup Social with the Hyde Community Center at the Hyde Playground. Hot bowls of soup, hot chocolate, and cookies provided by local restaurants. Live music by the Eli Cash Band. Glow-in-the-dark hula hoops, Olaf from Frozen and other costumed characters.
  • Sunday, January 29, 10AM: Winter walk around the 1.5 mile wooded trail of Cold Spring Park. Join the Newton Conservators and Olaf from Frozen for a family-friendly and dog-friendly (leashes please) walk. Enjoy hot chocolate, coffee, and Dunkin’ Munchkins at the end of the walk.
  • Sunday, January 29, 12PM-4PM: On Newton Centre Village Green, there will be Elsa from Frozen, the Newton North Melocotones, Far and Wide with Tom Pugh, dance performances by Calpulli Coyoxochitl of Newton and the “Women in White,” ice sculptures and live sculpting demonstration (1PM-3PM), Wicked Booth Photo Booth, food and hot chocolate from the Chubby Chickpea Food truck and the Coffee Trike, and a Winter Pop Up Market with crafts, chocolates, and edible goodies.

NCP and Welcome Home will also hold a blanket collection drive. Bring new or gently used full, queen or king blankets (no rips or stains) to the Welcome Home table on Newton Centre Green on January 29, 12PM-4PM.
