Rotary Club honors Greg Reibman with its highest award for community service

On Tuesday, the Newton Rotary Club honored Greg Reibman, President of the Charles River Regional Chamber, with its Paul Harris Award — Rotary’s highest honor, recognizing outstanding contributions to the community. Reibman was honored for helping to conceive of the Nourishing Newton project, which has worked to address food insecurity and support local restaurants during the pandemic. He also worked to inform the community with daily newsletters that helped businesses navigate the support programs available during the pandemic. With this award, Reibman becomes a Paul Harris Fellow “in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among people of the world.”

At the ceremony, Representative Kay Khan presented Reibman with a statement of congratulations from the Massachusetts House of Representatives, recognizing his extraordinary leadership of the Charles River Regional Chamber, his service to the community through the Nourishing Newton Project, and his receiving this award. Reibman also received a citation from the Massachusetts Senate signed by State Senator Cynthia Stone Creem to recognize the above achievements and “outstanding community activism, advocacy, and journalism.”

The event also honored incoming Rotary President Andy Willinger and outgoing President Sue Peghiny and inducted the club’s newest member, former Newton City Councilor John Rice. Click here for more photos of the event.
